It was never to the extent feeling like he could die from it until moments like these. Moments where Jim is incredible, warm, and right there. Where he puts some cake in his mouth before sharing a kiss or when Jim teases when it's the two of them. Zell finds himself wanting more and more.
When things get really heated between them, Jim usually pulls away or says his name. Right now none of that is happening. Swallowing as he nods mutely, not quite trusting words immediately as he trails his finger up Jim's stomach and chest. Kissing his boyfriend's shoulder as he takes a deep breath. Keeping his hand over Jim's heart beat as he reins in his thoughts on what he'd like to do to him in the tub and concentrate on what they should do.
Jim did say that he wants something, but doesn't at the same time. If this is about the same thing Zell is thinking of, then he needs to say something. ]
Do you mean...this? [ Lifting his hand out from the water to gesture to them in the tub. ] If it's this- [ Rubbing his face against Jim's neck as he lowers his voice] this, then I want to. I really want to. [ There might be a pretty big hint on just how much he wants it from the sound of his voice. Jim can be the biggest tease ever and he doesn't even know it and all he has to do is scoot back just a tiny bit to feel how much he wants him. ]
But only when you want to, Stars. I'm willing to wait however long it takes.
[ And he might have a use for those extra pair of socks while he waits. ] One step at a time.
[ None of that is happening. Jim's not pulling away, and while he might say Zell's name, it's not a warning or a request to stop. He's just still, heart beating hard enough that Zell can probably feel it stutter under his palm. ]

[ He hesitates. There really might be no turning back, once he finishes that sentence, but unlike the other times they've found themselves here, Jim thinks that's okay. They're warm and comfortable and safe, and he can't imagine anyone else in the universe that he'd rather be here with. He doesn't want to do this because he's afraid of losing Zell, he just wants Zell, and Zell wants him.
There's really no reason to make it more complicated than that, he thinks as he twists around to meet Zell's eyes. ]

[ And he doesn't, not even for an answer in words, as he presses ahead. ]
[ After bath time, drying off as best as he can, and pulling some shorts on, he's plopping down roughly on the edge of the bed. There is a smile plastered to his face that might not go away for the rest of the night. He gestures for Jim to come over. ]
Need any help with that? [ That refers to the toga. Jim is finally joining the ranks of toga-ing, while their clothes are going to the wash. Though Zell doesn't have plans on actually helping him until they actually have to leave the room. He has other ideas in mine that consist of dragging Jim into bed and just curling up against each other. ]
[ Jim still can't believe that just happened, but ... it's not a bad thing. It's a really good thing, in fact, which is why there's almost certainly a really dumb look on his face as he fiddles with the sheet, trying to wrap it to stay up. He hadn't exactly got a good look at them the last time they'd done this.
The look doesn't go away when he looks up at Zell; if anything it gets even dopier. ]

[ Which puts him in front of Zell, one hand holding up the sheet and the other hesitantly reaching out to smooth Zell's hair out of the way. ]
[ He really enjoys the feel of Jim's hand through his hair. Leaning into the touch as he scoots the very edge of the bed. Instead of touching the sheet, he's placing his hands on any bit of exposed skin he can find. Tracing along the edges of the sheet. Still thinking about the sounds and expressions his boyfriend made earlier as he settles his hands on his waist. Totally helping. ]
We used paperclips last time we did this. [ Paperclips were in his bag, but he's not making a move to go get them. Placing his knees on either side of Jim as he settles his hands on the small of Jim's back. ] I'll grab some later.
[ Jim really enjoys Zell's hair, period, which is why he's letting go of his grip on the sheet to put both hands in it. Parts of it are almost long enough to pull back; he brushes the long piece in the center all the way back and considers the effect. ]
Later - [ He repeats, faintly, like he's not entirely listening. ]
[ He closes his eyes and just absorbs all the affection he can get. He has a lot more to explore with the sheet being dropped. Tracing shapes down Jim's chest to his stomach without looking. He's wearing a lopsided grin as he tries to remember it all. ]
Lay down with me? [ Zell is reluctant to move just yet, but he will slide back as soon as Jim decides to join him in bed. ]
[ Jim picks the sheet back up again and all but climbs over Zell to get on the bed, tugging at his boyfriend's arm to get him to come with him. Once he gets to the headboard, though, he pauses in consideration and then shrugs before attaching the sheet to the headboard to form a little tent like the one they'd had in the toy store. He pulls his jacket over himself instead and settles back, waitng for Zell. ]
[ He rolls over and crawls further up on the bed. Watching with pique interest over what he does with the sheet hoping he's stripping again. Pawing around for his tablet to help with the lighting.
Once it's completed, he's ducking under it and throwing a leg over one of Jim's. Resting himself partially on him as he presses a kiss against his chest. Reaching for the hand further away from him to lace their fingers together. ]
[ Jim takes Zell's hand and uses his other to wrap his arms around his shoulders, holding his boyfriend close to his chest. The smile on his face still hasn't died; it may be the longest Zell's seen him smiling since they started dating. ]
[ If only he could summon the will to grab his tablet. Jim is way too comfortable to move from. Pressing his lips against his chest as he beams a smile in turn. ]
