[ Even as he's shooting off those messages, he's now looking at the ones he's been sent and smiling faintly. What's turned into finding blackmail might be, well. Punching him in the gut with nostalgia instead. For all the horrible things that have happened in Snowhell... not all of it's been a bad ride. ]

We didn't really have communicators like this.
Well we did, but they became useless.
We had something interfering with the signal.

[ Hijacking it actually for creepy messages. Zack doesn't really need to know about the Sorceress who was imprisoned in space though. ]

interfering with the signal huh? what? was someone taking out the towers or something? that was really the only time ours were messed with. well and if you were out in some backwater town.

[ That's really the only way he could figure they would be messed with.. ]

Did you go to backwater towns often?
It wasn't any of those really.
The sorceress from the last war was launched into space.
She was major bad news.
While stuck up there she able to interfere with all transmissions.
Anything linked up wires underground worked but were hard to maintain with all the monsters around.

[ He does remember the mention of the sorceress though it feels a long time ago. ]

so she interfered with that too? well I guess if she was that powerful you had to launch her into space and she was STILL causing problems that must have been child's play to her. damn. no wonder. and then you have monsters chewing up what you CAN hotwire. sounds like a pain.

[ Zack, Zell is honestly the last person you have to worry about being pessimistic about how things will end. ]

[ A part of him really isn't all that surprised. But still. It's not as if Zell has nothing back home from what he's been told. He has friends back there. Friends and a mother back there and a world that's found peace. Not experiments and betrayal and death.

But for all Zell's shown in times where emotions run high to act before thinking, this is something that's had plenty of time to be sat and thought on. And if it's what Zell wants, it's likely been what he's already thought through for a while now. ]

[ With everything he's leaving behind he has thought it through for some time now. With his world being in good hands, he knows he doesn't have to worry. ]

well I guess you should go. got business over there anyway right? gotta get his mom's approval and I don't think Kunsel counts there.

[ It's a stupid tease. The dumbest tease, but he saw that mom comment the other time. ]

seems like it'd be a nice place to go anyway. Jim says it's kinda boring but quiet and boring seems like it'd be a load off right now. warm food and beds would be a good bonus too.

It does seem like a great place.

The plan used to be going to just visit when I had the chance.

but yeah. the space thing DOES seem pretty cool. it's hard for me to imagine it cause it's not like WE'VE gone there yet ourselves. but that doesn't mean it's not possible. but the BREATHING thing. I'm DEFINITELY gonna have to get used to that idea. still pretty weird.

so what made you change your mind?

[ Give or take they can go and just... go wherever they want. He's not so sure that will even be a thing... but it would be nice. ]

[ It takes him a bit to respond back though maybe it's not an odd thing, really. Maybe not if Zack's been... busy with something or other. Maybe he's not sitting there feeling tight-chested like his heart's being squeezed tight in a fist. ]

then I don't see why not. Jim always says Benbow's not very exciting but that sounds dead wrong to me. especially if there's people worth being with there too.
