[ As long as he never talks to Jim about it, it's fine! They're fine! Everything is okay! ]

Oh, yeah. That's Mochi. He misses you.

[ Not as much as Jim, but he's been pretty pathetic. ]

Mochi? Like the food?

[ He does resemble it... ]

[ Jim thinks someone explained that to him a long time ago, anyway, but since he doesn't know what the food looks like it didn't really stick. ]

Here, hold on.

[ The tablet's abandoned for a moment as Jim wanders off to find the cat. He looks a little less dead when he comes back to present Mochi to the screen. ]

Not sure if he can see you, but your voice...

[ For a moment he has regrets because what if Jim really wasn't there. What if it's a lie and no one ever comes back.

He then relaxes as son as he hears Jim come back. Letting out a relieved sigh as he smiles again. Jim is back! And there again. Closing his eyes as he bumps his forehead against the tablet to try to reassure himself that it's real and everything is okay.

Then the smile is back and he's looking at the screen again. ]

Hey, Mochi. Here kitty kitty.

[ Jim is back and he's smiling softly as he holds Mochi up and waves his paw at Zell. He doesn't have a chance to say anything, though, since Mochi begins to meow loudly as soon as he hears Zell's voice.

Jim's glad he can hide his expression behind Mochi's big fat butt, because it almost sends him crying again. ]

[ Mochi is just thick bodied. ]

He looks so soft! Are you being a good kitty?

[ Don't mind him as he chatters in a certain soft voice for Mochi. He feels warm because not only is there this ball of fur waiting for him, but the one holding him is too. It's kind of...amazing and overwhelming in itself. ]

Don't be fooled, it's not fluff, it's fat.

[ It's also fluff, but seriously. How Mochi has managed to stay balloon-shaped, Jim doesn't know. ]

He's been keeping us company.

[ Keeping Jim company. ]

He's just well taken care of. Aren't you, Mochi?

[ Going to pat the screen. ]

Guess it's good I'm not that far, huh? He won't be alone in keeping longer.

Yeah. It's a really good thing.

[ He's cold and he needs someone who puts up with him octopusing. ;-; ]

Yeah, them. They spoke to me on the obituaries. [ Which is still weird tbh. It's weird seeing other names and those messages there for him. ]

Oh! I met my friend friend on there. [ He smiles softly as he says this. ] Her name is Ecks. [ He made a friend though! ]

[ Being on the obituaries, he means. ]

Ecks is one of your friends, yeah. She's pretty cool. You've got more than that though.

Yeah, it is. A lot of this is pretty weird.

[ Like there being people and the boyfriend... ]

Not that it's bad. Really surprising but in a good way. Didn't think I would ever get the chance to date someone.

[ Because Zell is smart and funny and nice on top of being really, really nice to look at, in Jim's obviously expert opinion. ]

Bet there are loads of girls back home that wanted a chance even before you saved the world.

[ It sounds fake. And then his face drops from shocked to srs. Then he'll give a smile with a touch of sadness lurking there. ]

I can't tell you if there was or not. But thanks. You're a good person, Jim. [ Now he'll give an actual smile. ]

[ Jim hopes his face isn't as hot as he feels. He rubs at it anyway, hiding it for a moment before shaking his head. ]

Not that good a person. I'm glad you didn't know about any of 'em.
